In this political moment, elections are as high-stakes as they come. And around the world, we’ve seen a wave of social movements engaging with them in new, game-changing ways. Thanks to grassroots organizing, proposals for transformative climate action have already gone mainstream. Now, to get these sweeping policies enacted, our movements have started taking the next step: winning elections and entering government. But to hold our representatives accountable — and stop the ruling class from sabotaging our agenda — we also need to build far more grassroots power outside government.
